How AM sensor label theft works?

2024-03-22

AM sensor label theft is part of the anti-theft system used in stores and retail locations. It mainly uses electromagnetic or acoustic technology to achieve the purpose of anti-theft of goods.

Anti theft sensor tags contain a specific circuit, including a coil and some special materials, that make it respond to electromagnetic or acoustic signals. When a tag is activated or deactivated, it interacts with the store's anti-theft system, triggering an alarm as a warning.

Specifically, AM sensor labels work as follows:

Activation: When an item is purchased, the cashier activates the tag using a specific device so the tag responds to the store's anti-theft system.

Detection: Some detectors or antennas are installed inside the store to detect activated tags. These detectors emit specific electromagnetic or acoustic signals that interact with the tags.

Alarm: If the activated tag is not deactivated, the anti-theft system will detect the tag and trigger an alarm when passing through the store exit, alerting staff of possible theft.
